More
The yearning for more of Him had never been so intense for me since the Covid-19 pandemic hit us back in 2020. On top of that, there were also several concurrent shifts that were happening in my life since last year.
While I was turning a new chapter in my life, what affected me most was when church services and cell group had to be shifted online. I know that God is omnipresent and He is everywhere but something was sorely missing in my life, it felt different. We started streaming church services from home and started embracing a glimpse of what would be the new normal. While that was all well and good (and that slowly dragged on for months), I felt that community and the whole foundations of being at church physically to fellowship and worship was taken away from me back in 2020. Fast forward a year and this niggling feeling crept back as we entered Phase 2 (Heightened Alert) in Singapore awhile ago and I found myself back in that same void.
Truth be told, I really do love being in church physically and there will always be something special about being in the House of God:
Fellowship - And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers.
Acts 2:42 (NKJV)Unity and being our Brothers’ Keeper - And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.
Heb 10:24-25 (NKJV)Spiritual & Physical Growth - The church then had peace throughout Judea, Galilee, and Samaria, and it became stronger as the believers lived in the fear of the Lord. And with the encouragement of the Holy Spirit, it also grew in numbers.
Acts 9:31 (NLT)
I am sure there are many more of such examples in the Bible but with whatever I had then and even as we entered yet another pseudo lock down, I found myself asking God for more. More of Him, His presence and His love. I found myself intentionally asking for more of Him to fill my void. It is therefore apt that TE’s latest single “More” would be released at this time (in an around the mini-circuit breaker period due to the rising number of unlinked Covid-19 community cases in Singapore).
The song “More” was birth from a place of desire, from a space of emptiness back in 2020. These are some parts of the song which I hold dearly on to.
We pray this song stirs your heart and ignites your desire for more of Him. Save the date - 15 July 2021 (2000hrs +8 GMT)!
God bless you,
